With getting to the Disneyland Resort late yesterday, the crowds had already developed. On top of that, my roommates car broke down on the freeway, so I had to leave shortly after I got there to go help him. So I told myself that I would have to get up early the next day and get there before the crowds hit.
So today I got up early and walked to the Resort. First stop, Disney California Adventure
-Disney California Adventure-
I was able to step inside the gates 10 minutes before the 10am park opening
On the backside of Grizzly, waiting for rope drop
And they're off!
I am sure 95% of them are headed to Toy Story Midway Mania
I, on the other hand, break from crowd
Snapping away at the Little Mermaid attraction building
Can I see anything?
Work being done on, what I assume will be, some queue frame
And these still stand!
Mickey's Fun Wheel had some technical difficulties in the morning. It took them about 20 minutes to get the attraction open.

Work progressing on the Paradise Pier Gardens area
Looking over at the construction of Cars Land
More work on Flo's V8 Cafe
Three mountain ranges
Checking out the side portion of the Little Mermaid building
Kind of gives you and idea on how massive the rock structure will be
Looking out towards the Golden Gate Bridge
But, oh wait!
I had to go to the Pier again...
Even when the Park is busy, I would still consider this crowd to be light
Looking across the bay at the arch of the Little Mermaid building
Whoa! A Rainbow
Oh man, another rainbow! Almost all the way!
Recent polls have shown that only 1/5 of Disneyland Resort Guests know who Duffy is. Why do you think that is?
Aw, how cute
It look like they redid the bibs. They now state "My first Duffy bear" instead of "My first Disney bear".
I hate that color pj's. It reminds me of "old" Paradise Pier and that awful teal color.
New Years outfit
Ring in the new year with these!
Time to head out and go to Disneyland
Looking back at the letters
Heading into Disneyland, it's very crowded at the floral Mickey
Main Street with Guests coming in
Astro Orbitor in operation
Village Haus reopend...
.. with their variety of food items
I am heading out, but was in the mood for some ice cream. And it was practically a walk-up
Checking out Cars Land from across the Main Entrance
When I see this, I always think of those Watts Towers. But unlike the Watts Towers, this will eventually be a place I will want to visit.
Walking along Harbor Blvd and peaking through the steel
Look on the backside of Cars Land from higher up
That will conclude today's pictorial.
Thank you
Glad you were able to stop by and check it out
Until next time...
great update! harbor pictures look great. thanks for doing what you do every week!
ReplyDeleteYou really should visit the Watts Towers. They're one of only nine works of folk art listed on the National Register of Historic Places and they're a unit of California State Parks, managed by the Los Angeles City Cultural Affairs Department.
ReplyDeleteIt's 2011 (almost), the Watts riots were a very long time ago.
I agree with Gn2dlnd. The Watts Towers are both fascinating and beautiful— really something worth seeing.
ReplyDeleteI did a tour of Watts by bike with a medium-sized group a few years ago, and while I probably would not choose to go there alone or at night, the area is certainly not as dangerous as some people make it out to be.
Thank you SO much! great great update!!
ReplyDeleteYou truly have the best pics of DLR out there on any Disney fan website. Keep up the great work.
