Frozen Live At The Hyperion Balcony Seating
Just some of my quick thoughts about Frozen:
It was an ok show. Nothing special.
I enjoyed some of the effects. Like when Anna and Elsa are notified of their parents death, and when Kristoff, Anna, and Sven are being chased by the pack of wolves.
The singing seemed a bit pitchy at points, especially during the "Let It Go" scene, I feel like the actress portraying Elsa is trying to sing it just like Iden Menzel sings it, that it comes off as though she is trying too hard..
I thought the Duke of Weselton character was the best side character.
I don't know if it's because it was the first showing of the day, but there seems to be a lot of slow parts and abrupt scene transitions
I think Aladdin A Musical Spectacular is probably still better of the two musicals. One thing I like about Aladdin is that it's a good vs evil. And we get to see that play out. With Frozen, where is the climax in it all? The moment Elsa realizes that love will thaw out the snow? Boring. No one dies. No one is vanquished
Another thing that I enjoyed about Aladdin compared to Frozen is that Aladdin used a lot of stage props and scenery. Frozen seems to rely on the background projection screen as their scenery. I am guessing they went with digital projection cause they can have more scenes and easily change scenes instantly.
