For today's pictorial, we will go one day back, to Thursday.
Disneyland was celebrating "it's a small world" 50th anniversary. But I am not so sure why they chose April 10th as the day to celebrate.
It debuted on April 22, 1964 at the New York World's Fair and two years later it opened at Disneyland on May 28, 1966
I wonder if they still have the Mickey 50 that was adorn on the Clock Tower during Disneyland's 50th ha ha
Early that morning Good Morning America broadcasted people singing the "it's a small world" theme song from specific spots around the world.
New York Times Square : Good Morning America
Flushing Meadows : New York World's Fair
Hong Kong Disneyland
Tokyo Disneyland
Disneyland Paris
Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

Signs at the entry tunnels stating that there will be a sing-along
Pay no attention to the second verse as it's no longer sung in the attraction
I get to Main Street and find a spot around 1:15.
Finally, at 2:20, the procession comes down
Disneyland band
Richard Sherman singing the song in a microphone
And... that's it. People were following the Fire Truck with Richard Sherman, but it was just a quick pass by.
Waited almost an hour for that
You better appreciate that I'm here singing my song
I'm watching you. And if you say that waiting an hour for me isn't worth it, why I'm gonna... I'm gonna... I'm gonna have my wife giver you a piece of her mind
"That's right. I am like a God to these people. And they should appreciate me. After all, I met Walt Disney"

Disney California Adventure and Disneyland is doing the Egg-stravaganza Easter Egg Hunt.
I did a separate post just on the scavenger hunt because I didn't want to spoil the hunt for anyone who wanted to search for the eggs on their own
If you would like to view that post -

April 18 a special sneak peek of "Maleficent" trailer takes place in the "it's tough to be a bug" theater
Guests just walking right on up to the Fast Pass machines for Radiator Springs Racers.
Back at Disneyland
The 20th Century Music Company store has now converted part of the shelf space to pin trading
20th Century Pin Trading Company
An open window display.
They should have done this when it was a music store. That way Guests who walk by can easily see inside and it may have brought more business.
Music still exists
Alice in Wonderland's refurbishment
For a limited time, "it's a small world" is open before closing down again to continue with it's refurbishment
Tutu Mickey Mouse ears with a braided rat tail
Why is Disneyland Paris's Space Mountain displayed?
And why does California Screamin' still have the Mickey Mouse silhouette ?
While walking back, noticed the Alice in Wonderland caterpillar vehicles parked backstage
That will conclude today's pictorial
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out

Until Next Time...
Captain America's special pizza = Shawarma Pizza? Lol. It's probably a reference to the Avenger's movie, but I just find it funny because nothing screams America like shawarma. I typically avoid the Pizza Port, but have to admit I am slightly intrigued. Thanks for the update! I look forward to them every week.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know what shawarma was. I had to Google it and it pointed me to the Avengers. But it's Iron Man that craves the dish, not Captain America, so I don't know why they have it tied with Captain America. ha ha
