It's the first day of Spring
What better way than to visit the Disneyland Resort.
Yes, I am visiting on a Thursday. Only because I may be busy the next day to do my Friday pictorials. So I thought I might as well as do it today while I have a chance, just in case I couldn't get to the Disneyland Resort the next day.
Getting to Disneyland before opening
My first destination will be Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
I wonder how many of these people are heading in the same direction I want to head in
Disneyland is now open and the crowd is slowly making their way to the Hub
A number of people are heading towards Big Thunder
I decide to get a Fast Pass first before getting into Big Thunder's queue
The Fast Pass machines are there behind the tree branches
The line for Big Thunder Fast Pass stretches towards the Frontierland gates
Got my Fast Pass and now heading out to get in line
A Cast Member with a sign indicating that the line stretching out towards the Frontierland gates is for Big Thunder FastPass Distribution
Me, with my FastPass ticket in hand
Now I am gonna head into the queue of Big Thunder
This sign use to state "Welcome to Big Thunder"
Now it's referencing the little town of Rainbow Ridge
A new platform has been constructed on the North side of the station.
This new extended platform is for Guest with Disabilities. It makes it easier for them to wait to board than the old procedure which had them come along side the station where it was already a tight squeeze when Guests in the trains were disembarking
The top sign used to state "Big Thunder"
But you can see that they also changed it to Rainbow Ridge
This here's the smoothest ride in the wilderness!
Another look at the platform
Guests along the edge are waiting to board
The demand for Big Thunder FastPass has dwindled down
Space Mountain's top ring is getting a primer
What's this?
What am I looking at?
Why, it's part of the vine from Alice in Wonderland
A salvage tag for the leaves.
I guess they did this just in case the contractor was colorblind.
They didn't want to take any chances
Almost resembles on how it used to look without the scaffolding
It's just about time to use my Big Thunder FastPass
But first, I am gonna grab another FastPass
This time the return will be for 12:25 p.m.
Looking at Rainbow Ridge
As I reach the turnstiles, a Cast Member gets on the loud speaker and tells everyone to reverse their direction in line as they were having technical difficulties
I notice these fire alarm lights were flashing
So I knew something was up
We reversed our direction and back at the marquee, they have people re-admission tickets to come back
Lonely Bert
Poor lonely, lonely Bert
Another look at Space Mountain's top ring
Finding Nemo refurbishment
Bob Igre mentioned at the Shareholder's meeting that the Subs were indeed returning
Really not much activity taking place outside right now.
Most of the work must be taking place inside the show building
Space Mountain safety rail
Clearing the garden!
Amazing how open that space was before the 3 year temporary scaffolding was put up
Leaving to go to Disney California Adventure
A lot of people are still entering
Soarin's FastPass line is all backed up
I wonder if they only had one theater going
The Little Mermaid Ariel's Undersea Adventure is closed for another refurbishment
Will the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail ever reopen?
Someone should have asked at the recent Shareholders meeting
With the crowds and warm weather, these girls could probably cheer up some of the people roaming the Park
Just like any other character at the Parks, it seems like Olaf only has three poses ha ha
Back to Disneyland to use by re-admission pass and FastPass for Big Thunder
Indiana Jones, yet again, down for another refurbishment
At least Big Thunder is back open
Grizzly Gulch is in reference to Hong Kong Disneyland's new Frontier land section of the Park. It is not a reference to Grizzly River Run at Disney California Adventure ha ha
Raise your hand if you're having fun!
Ka-Boom!
Bang!
"smoke"
Fire
Whew! Narrowly escaped
Cute little height check for those entering (mostly Guest with disabilities)
With the Lilly Belle of the Disneyland Railroad now only for Club 33 members and special Guests, could we expect the same thing to happen to say ....
Casey Jr.'s Caboose?
Or...
The wheelhouse on the Mark Twain?
ha ha ha
As I am heading out, noticed workers on Space Mountain
Where were they when I was in Tomorrowland earlier
ha ha
Ugh!
Look at these windows.
I wish these would get fixed
It looks like cracked egg shells.
It's not the window itself that's cracking, but the object behind the window.
I am guessing it's probably due to sun damage. It probably gets hot and begins to crack when the sun hits that area later in the day
Well that will conclude today's pictorial
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out
Feel free to leave a comment
Until Next Time...
I'm proud to say that I never believed those lame rumors. I knew that the subs would come back.
ReplyDeleteI never put trust in rumors or speculation. I only like to read DisneyParks blog, because at the very least, they have OFFICIAL information, not rumors or speculation.
That's great!
DeleteI rarely do it, but I think I have (probably) made assumptions in the past on some blog posts which don't turn out to be true. But I try to inform my readers that they are just assumptions.
I don't want to purposely say something and have it not to be true. I want my readers to have trust in me. I don't want any kind of credibility that I have to be damaged.
That's good to hear.
DeleteI won't name names, but there are certain sites out there whose credibility (at least to me) has been greatly damaged in the past, even when they turn out to be wrong, it seems they just backtrack to make it seem like they were never wrong.
I will say that it is interesting to read some rumors, but I never put a lot of stock in them.
God bless those souls who brave the park during spring break. Looks like a mad house, especially with all the refurbs happening all at once. When the parks are that crowded it is very hard to enjoy yourself. I guesst that's what the Cove Bar and the Karl Strauss beer cart is for lol!
ReplyDeleteIt still amazes me how many times I hear "I didn't think it would be/was going to be this busy".
DeleteEven for me, it can be a bit overwhelming dodging the crowds, especially if strollers and wheelchairs are involved.
