Good thing I checked the Disneyland Resort time schedule the day before. Otherwise I would have arrived for a 9 a.m. opening instead of today's 8 a.m. opening
Walking past Downtown Disney's Starbucks.
It doesn't look too busy around 7:50 a.m.
Gates open, but hardly anyone entering
Just a few more people going through Disneyland's gates.
Probably has something to do with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad previews taking place
A relatively quiet Buena Vista Street
Gonna head over to Disneyland now.
I just went into Disney California Adventure for a short amount of time so that Park would get the "click", but I'll return to that Park a bit later
St. Patrick's Day style merchandise
People already starting to line up for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
At this time, the attraction was experiencing a slight delay
Extended queue already in place
After some time, an announcement went over the loud speaker about show effects being turned on. Just then, the water started to flow down the rocks
Just as soon as they turned it on, they had shut it off
All's quiet around here
Sure can see the fake tree.
Reminds me of the old electrical towers found in the old Parking Lot before Disney California Adventure was built. ha ha
Alice in Wonderland finally under refurbishment
Because the path between Alice in Wonderland and the Tea Cups is closed, Handicapped Guests will travel around the Tea Cups to utilize the exit gate, across from the Matterhorn
The rope set up is mainly extended queue for the Tea Cups
If the line extends out from the rails, they will just put up the rope.
That way the line doesn't stick out into the walkway
The faux leaves that "camouflaged" the rails have been removed
Finally after 3 years Disney is going to address the Vine issue.
Hope it turns out well designed
The track has been covered to prevent any kind of damage
"it's a small world" still closed for refurbishment
Wait, when did these chains come in?
The only reason I noticed them is because I had to use the Monorail twice for pictures of Finding Nemo and Alice in Wonderland.
The last time I had to ride the Monorail twice was when Buena Vista Street was being constructed.
And with Nemo under refurbishment, I just rode the Monorail once and I didn't pay attention to the queue.
Don't fall!
Another look at Alice in Wonderland
Space Mountain's third ring
Going back to Big Thunder, the attraction still hadn't open yet. But they opened part of the queue to get some of the people out of the walkway
Keep the kids out of school today.
We have to go ride Big Thunder
Bubble Princess
Love Easter and Spring
Back to Disney California Adventure...
It has gotten a bit busier now
Will this ever reopen?!?! Don't tell me this is Disney California Adventure's version of Big Thunder Mountain where the opening date keeps getting pushed back. ha ha
Over at the Animation Academy, a new poster display for the new Tinker Bell movie "The Pirate Fairy"
Speaking of Tink, a cute little hummingbird feeder
Heading out now
Starbucks a bit busier
Guests taking advantage of the warm weather and sitting outside on the patio
Well, that will conclude today's pictorial
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out
Feel free to leave a comment.
I love reading them
Until Next Time...
Thanks for the updates! I look forward to reading them every week :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you stop by every week to check out the pictures :)
DeleteI love checking in here for what's new in the parks. I have a quick question, what's up with the first click thing?
ReplyDeleteAnnual figures for the Disneyland Resort don't take into account the number of times you enter the Parks throughout the day. They are calculated by the first Park you enter for the day.
DeleteIf I was to go to Disneyland first, Disneyland would the +1 counted towards the attendance. Let's say after a couple of hours at Disneyland, I hop on over to Disney California Adventure. Disney California Adventure would not get a +1 added to their attendance from me. I could hop back and forth 4, 5, or 6 times, but it wouldn't officially add any count to the attendance figure. Only the first Park I entered for the day would get the nod (which in this scenario would be Disneyland)
Every year an unofficial list is put out on the top Amusement/Theme Parks visited for the year. The top spots are typically Disney Parks. Disneyland would typically make the top 3 while Disney California Adventure would rank further down the list. When Disney California Adventure opened up Cars Land / Buena Vista Street for the relaunch in 2012, Disney California Adventure saw a spike in attendance figures and it rose up a few spots on the list. I want Disney California Adventure to continue doing well, so 9 times out of 10, I would let Disney California Adventure get the +1 count from me.
Oh gosh, I hope I didn't ramble ha ha
