Come To The Disneyland Resort and Stay for the Lunar New Year Celebration
Stepping into Disney California Adventure first so it gets the "click"
Not bad for a Friday morning
After spending about 10 minutes here, I head across to the other park...
Even getting into Disneyland was a breeze. Just walked right up to a gate and got right in
Bert and Mary Poppins hanging around while Donald Duck gets all the attention
Walking down Main Street U.S.A.
Two trolleys and an Omnibus
Decided to go into Fantasyland first instead this time. Usually I go through Adventureland or Frontierland
Looking up before walking through
Oh Skyway Chalet. How I am gonna miss you when you go
I noticed these tree branches were cut
Are they starting to trim the trees so they can start dismantling the Skyway chalet? Or is it just a coincidence that they cut the trees around the time the Chalet is supposedly scheduled to be removed
Looking towards Big Thunder Mountain Railroad from the Village Haus
Making sure I got some decent shots of the Skyway Chalet, I went back
Big Thunder Mountain
A train was stopped in the town area
Sorry for the blur picture, but there was a Cast Member standing about 10 feet away and I didn't want him to see my camera.
Just like over at Mater's Junkyard Jamboree for Guests with Wheelchairs that need easier access to tractor, it appears that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has something similar along those lines. It appears that the first row of the specific car has a side panel that will open up, making it easier for guests in Wheelchairs to transfer from their chair to Big Thunders seat
Tiki Juice Bar still under refurbishment
Space Mountain with scaffolding and tarp on the top portion of the mountain
Water still in the lagoon
Scuba divers are getting into the lagoon to get some work done
Water still in the lagoon. But if everything goes well, drainage of the lagoon should begin in a couple of weeks
"it's a small world" is preparing to recreate the 1964 World's Fair for Brad Bird's movie "Tomorrowland"
The blue screens will act like a "green screen" and will be used for CGI to recreate the 1964 World's Fair version of "it's a small world"
Filming for the movie will take place the following Tuesday and Wednesday
Because this is suppose to be the 1964 World's Fair version, many of the recently installed Disney characters have been removed as some scenes will be shot inside the show building.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Heading over to Disney California Adventure
Over in Paradise Pier, the Lunar New Year was being celebrated
Gentle with the umbrella
Now it's my turn
Watch how it's done girls
OK girls! Just like we rehearsed it!
Mulan and her concubines leaving the meet and greet ha ha ha
Mickey and Minnie at the meet and greet
The line to meet the characters stretched all the way to Goofy's Sky School
I thought it was the year of the horse, not year of the fish ha ha ha
I'm Chip
I'm Dale
It was the same beat from them.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Watch out! Man eating dragons are loose
Little Mermaid will be going down for a rehab
Maybe we will get some of the show elements like what's found at Walt Disney World such as..
• King Triton's Castle (image) where the school of fish are right before the "Under the Sea" scene
• Ursula's demise sound effect in the "Loves First Kiss" scene
But will this rehab change the wait time?! ha ha ha
The characters from Disney "Planes" have been removed from the Condor Flats billboard. It's back to normal now
Speaking of Disney "Planes", I decided to check inside the Fly 'n' Buy to see how much Planes merchandise they still have
Can you believe that these light chasers are the only "Planes" merchandise I saw in the store
The Tower of Terror elevator door open up in the new window display at the World of Disney store.
I need to get a night shot of this. ha ha
That will conclude today's pictorial
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out
Feel free to leave a comment
Until Next Time...

Interesting shot through the fence at Big Thunder - You do know what that big white thing wa, right? It's a Clearance Template that they put in the various seat positions to make sure that people can't touch the walls and ceiling. Did you get any close-ups of that?
ReplyDeleteLooks like it had (Past Tense) a bunch of cut-out 'hands' made of thin plywood or planks bolted to it - many of appear to be missing, possibly broken off from contacting some things like rockwork or woodwork... >_<
And if that's accurate, it would explain the delays on getting the ride reopened if Cal-OSHA Permanent Amusement Ride inspectors said they have to start reworking the sets where things were too close.
