Here it is, Jan 10, 2016, the last day of Disney's Aladdin A Musical Spectacular at the Hyperion Theater inside Disney California Adventure
A dear friend of mine who performs in the show was able to get tickets to the last showing of the musical production
I had mentioned to him earlier in the day, there was a line stretching out to Soarin' Over California to get tickets. The only way to see the show was to obtain a FastPass as there was to be no Stand-By.
We get to Disney California Adventure around 3 p.m. and make our way towards the Hyperion Theater to see how the set up is.
The special ticket that allows me to see the very last showing of Aladdin A Musical Spectacular
These people are all waiting for their 6:20 p.m. showing of Aladdin
We had asked around to see where we were suppose to go. There was some confusion. But eventually we were told to join the 6:20 p.m. FastPass queue and once we get to the marquee doors, we will be separated.
The line stretched all the way past Monsters Inc and was over by the Olaf's Snow Fest building
Once through the marquee doors, we head to the podium and are directed to the VIP waiting area. Soon, more Cast/Crew and their guests show up.
Once ready, all current Cast were allowed inside as there was a special section held off for them, which was Center Orchestra.
After that, their Guests were let in. Then Disabilities, then standard queue.

Before the show started, Tracy Halas (choreographer for all 13 years) and Ken Parks (director) came out and spoke a few words.
Lightening strikes in the distance.
The wind howls
We are quickly transported to the desert sands
Princess Jasmine seemed to get a little emotional at the end of "To Be Free"
A passionate kiss
And an embrace
The Genie did something that surprised everyone. In his usual routine with Jafar, the Genie started to name off every cast member, past and present, who played the different roles.
Once the other performances caught on what was doing, they were getting a bit emotional
So, I was trying to get some pictures, but I guess I was snapping a bit too fast for my camera to catch up. So I missed the whole encore curtain call. :(
Felt so bummed.
Everyone getting their last pictures of the Aladdin marquee
My friend with his jacket and a parting gift
Cast and Crew received this great farewell gift
Am I going to miss Aladdin?
Yes, only cause I know my friend won't be performing at the Hyperion Theater.
I always enjoyed watching him perform
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out

Until Next Time......
Good site.
ReplyDeleteI will miss this show a lot, not only because it was SO enjoyable, but also because I know that Frozen has little to no chance of actually being as good as Aladdin and for my personal taste, they should have replaced with another 90s era movie like Beauty and the Beast or Little Mermaid.
