Because there's a lot to cover for this years D23, I will be breaking it up into sections.
Today's pictorial we will cover the odds and ends of the Show Room Floor since it has the least amount of pictures.

Can you picture yourself inside this car?
I certainly can

Inside Out concept art and models
This reminds me of two things...
1. Tower of the Four Winds ( "it's a small world" from the 1964 - 1965 New York World's Fair)
2. EPCOT City model

Ever wanted to be a Mouseketeer?
Or a Stormtrooper?
Or Iron Man?
Now you can .... sort of.
While waiting in line to get a picture of this, many people were calling this the Sky Buckets, or just the Buckets.
Ugh!
It's the SkyWay. I'll even take SkyWay Cabin.
I never liked it when people called them the buckets.
Buckets are used to hold water and clean things with.
Aim Aurasma here!
I know I missed more stuff, but I pretty much took pictures of what I thought was interesting.
Sorry if I missed out on anything.
Disneyland Archives, Shanghai Disneyland, and Pandora: The World of Avatar, and more will be in separate posts. So look for those in the coming days.
That will conclude today's pictorial
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out

Thank you for sharing your pics from the convention! I noticed that the sign to the left of the Skyway gondola mentions something about the Mine Train and the DL entrance sign. I'm just curious....what were the objects that were on display representing those two pieces of DL history?
ReplyDeleteThere were no other object presented other than the SkyWay cabin. The Disneyland entrance sign, Mine Train, etc, were just backdrop photos, similar to the Skyway that one could stand in front of and take a picture. The picture backdrops presented nothing new that hasn't been seen before. If it wasn't for the SkyWay cabin, I probably wouldn't have even ventured over in that area
DeleteOh, now I recognize that photo that's behind the Skyway as the one that was in the park for a special photo op on July 17th. They just didn't have the Skyway gondola in front of it. They also had a Mine Train backdrop photo op, and another one of the Disneyland sign (in DCA). I'm guessing these were the same ones used at the convention. Thank you for answering my question so quickly!
DeleteGreat photos! Thank you for attending the event and posting the photos. It's great to see what the exhibit areas looked like without having to fight the crowds.
ReplyDeleteI feel nostalgic seeing the People Mover and Skyway vehicles. Were people allowed to sit inside the PeopleMover cars? I didn't see a barrier, but I don't see anyone inside the vehicles in your photos, either.
Also, the control panel for the People Mover is interesting in that it doesn't show the track between the America Sings building and the America the Beautiful theater. Does anyone know what the marked locations are inside the buildings on the control panel?
People were allowed and encouraged to sit inside the PeopleMover and SkyWay. I preferred having pictures of just the vehicles and not so much of people sitting in them.
DeleteWith the PeopleMover, I either had to time it just right with no one around or wait my turn to get a photo. For both occasions, it wasn't hard to do because most other people were waiting for the same thing.
