They say things come in 3's, and it looks like I had one of those days where I got to experience first hand.
When I walk to the Disneyland Resort, I always take my iPod so I can listen to music to and from the Parks. I had searched for my iPod only to realize I left it in my car. I get to my car, and the battery was practically dead.
Strike 1!
The day started out very cloudy. I didn't think much of it and thought that clear skies would soon open up. Nope. Not only was it cloudy, but it began to rain sprinkle. I hate being out, especially with my camera, in any wet weather
Strike 2!
I was ending the limit on my SD card on my camera. So I wanted to delete the previous weeks photos. Well, some how I must have mistaken last weeks photos for this weeks photos, and I ended up deleting all the photos I had taken up to that point in time. I was so devastated.
Strike 3!
I almost got upset and wanted to leave the Park. But I decided to just buck up, compose myself, and just take the important shots again.
"Things happen. Get over it"
So I quickly went back around both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, just taking the necessary pictures this week. Even with the slight drizzle, the Parks were getting busier by the minute.
So we will start where I was when the pictures were deleted ....
At the Tomorrowland Theater -
The monitors now display concept art of Tomorrowland the movie
Headed back on the Monorail -
Appropriately themed lamp posts for Soarin'
This area is coming along very nicely!
So streamlined
Thumbs up!
Small World speaker towers behind tarps
Sleeping Beauty Castle is pretty much completed for the 60th
All that is missing is the giant 60 emblem on the front of the Castle
It was sprinkling heavily, and it's cold, and people still want to ride Splash Mountain?!? ha ha
Sometimes I wish there was like a mound of some sort that they would stick this in. That way they wouldn't have to wait for the foliage to grow and hide the posts
Cough Cough
Cough Cough
A new smoking section to the left of the Big Thunder Ranch entrance?
It appears that the official one is still in place. Maybe the one near the Thunder Ranch entrance was a makeshift one. One made by people who didn't want to go to the official one and saw a secluded area and took the opportunity. Thing is, when one person does it, they all want to do it.
People are actually waiting for the Tea Cups to reopen from the heavy sprinkle that took place a short time before
Disneyland Custodial working hard and drying the turn table so that the Tea Cups can reopen
Alice in Wonderland was also closed
An empty station
Speaking of empty...
Innoventions still behind walls.
Doesn't look like there is any type of activity. Does that mean nothing is happening inside? ha ha
(reference to when people didn't think anything was happening at Nemo because they couldn't see any activity taking place inside the show building)
Back at Tomorrowland preview
Carefully read the first statement in red
I guess that's one way to fix a typographical error
A countdown clock displays when the next showing is
To keep people occupied, several programs are played on the monitors
The monitors were acting a bit wacky. Not sure if the recent rain had anything to do with it
WDI people talk about Walt and how he would follow his dreams on constantly creating and dreaming of the future
Walt was always doing something
Just like my vision for EPCOT disappeared,
so am I
Tomorrowland '67... awwww
Fun Fun Fun
Next is a short about the New York World's Fair
Brad Bird and Damon Lindelop welcome you to the Tomorrowland Sneak Preek preview
Here is a video of the preshow
What are you looking at?
Yes, What are you looking at?
A busy Main Street
Soarin's giant green building
A Cinderella Coach Candy Apple
Soarin's facade is getting a brown checkerboard pattern
Freeze the Night is being transformed back to the Mad T Party
Brother!
Brother!
So far, this is staying after Frozen Fun ends
But this will be leaving when Frozen Fun ends
This Downtown Disney sign is now themed for the 60th anniversary of Disneyland
That will conclude today's pictorial
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out
Feel free to leave a comment
Until Next Time....
Nice pictures. Way to persevere. Thank mint:)
ReplyDeleteso here is the million dollar question, considering Age of Ultron comes out next week, are they only keeping those banners up as a cross promotion to keep those characters on your mind, or will they still have the Avengers meet and greets when/if the walls come down? I would think that if the plan is to not have the Avengers in there anymore that they would have taken those down right away
