Apparently my telephoto lens quit functioning on me.
The lens was fine last week when I was using it to find Easter Eggs, and I didn't do anything out of the ordinary between then and now.
So I couldn't use it for close up shots
I did go to a repair shop and he thinks he'll be able to fix it. So hopefully I will have it by next Friday.
We start at Disney California Adventure...
Some tarps have now been installed above the construction wall of Grizzly Peak Airfield
Desert plants
People waiting for Disney California Adventure to open
This space is usually taken up by pictures of the refurbishment of Luigi's Flying Tires.
I did go on the Fun Wheel to see if any shots would come out.
Unfortunately nothing good came out.
But from the looks of it, it appears the same as it has the previous weeks.
So I am hoping nothing new popped up today. ha ha
With nothing else going on over at Disney California Adventure, I decide to head out. I walk through the stores and that's when I noticed this....
When did Glow with the Show become Made with Magic?
Do they think that by using the word "Magic", that it will help sales?
Disneyland time....
A view of Sleeping Beauty Castle
New "D" banner flags have been installed on the torch posts
I kinda like them.
I don't know if it's just me, but the dark blue of the flags and the light blue of the Castle top don't seem to blend well together
Spire diamond toppers have appeared
Some diamond bead strands have been placed on the tall spire
A rose for Briar Rose
Well well. Look whats back. It looks like the old projection boxes. But these new boxes are much taller. And with the small gap towards the bottom, they look like they may open differently
Flags, bunting, diamonds, beads, all in the name of the 60th
So instead of 4 individual boxes that were used for the 50th anniversary firework show, there are just two of these boxes. One on either side of the Castle forecourt
More stands of diamond beads and danglers
...and a chain.
Mixing hard and soft
Finally some force perspective!
You know when it's Christmas Time, the garland that is draped on the the tall spire is never in scale
But it looks like they corrected that with the diamond bead strands
Critter Country finished ahead of schedule and actually opened earlier in the week
Guests enjoying a nice cool log ride
What's that in the back?
A storage room?
Nope, it's a companion restroom
It was recently installed during the recent refurbishment
The Sun Bonnets -
But who are the Sun Bonnets?
Well, they were a trio of little girl bears who sung in Country Bear Jamboree. The Sun Bonnets consisted of Bunny, Bubbles, and Beulah from the Sunshine state. In the Country Bear Jamboree, they sang "All the Guys That Turn Me On, Turn Me Down".
Later, when the Country Bear Jamboree became the Country Bear Vacation Hoedown, The Sun Bonnets sang "California Bears" (a take on the Beach Boy's "California Girls"). During the Christmas season, the Country Bear Jamboree presented the Country Bear Christmas Special. The Sun Bonnets would sing "Sleigh Ride"
Over at the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh...
The ride is pretty much the same
But...
During the refurbishment, they remodeled this section
There is now a gate on the right side, next to the new "exit" sign that cast members (and possible guests?) can use.
This comes in handy when sending wheelchairs or any other assistance device to the unloading area.
The station width seems to be just wide enough for a wheelchair, but when you get electric wheelchairs, it could be a bit tricky to maneuver. Especially with moving vehicles in the station
Before, the Cast Members would
1 - Use the gate next to Row 6
2 - Push the wheelchair along the station
3 - Use the double gates to bring the wheelchair through then
4 - Place it at the exit.
But with the this new remodel, the Cast Members don't have to worry about the station.
Guests get out of chair and Cast Member can easily use the side gate, avoiding the station, and viola!
AAAHHHHhhhhhhhh
The back side of the Castle
Looking at the hinges...
There are two rows of hinges.
One appears to be for a small door
And then you got the larger ones
Will that open the actual box?
Interesting on how this will all play out
Some facade work over at Pinocchio's Daring Journey
With the wall, it makes it seem like the ride is also closed for refurbishment.
But it's not.
The exit
Speaking of refurbishment....
Innoventions finally closed
A wall wraps around the base of the building
I'm sure that's a relief for the Autopia Cast Members
The Magic Eye... I mean, the Tomorrowland Theater with tarps across it
Disneyland Monorail time...
Lamp posts have been installed at the entrance to Soarin' Over California
Over at the Matterhorn Bobsleds, some bobsled testing runs were taking place on the Tomorrowland side
Over at the Springtime Roundup at Big Thunder Ranch
Fuzzball in egg form
The power of two sisters
A cool Jungle Cruise Easter Egg
And a 50th anniversary celebration of the 1964-1965 New York's World's Fair.
Which I think was painted last year... right?
Well, that will conclude today's pictorial
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out
Feel free to leave a comment.
Until Next Time....
I agree that the two blues on the castle don't really match. The castle still looks too pink to me.
ReplyDelete"Glow with the Show" became "Made with Magic" when the magic wand that can change color and the light up (Glow with the Show) Minnie ears joined the line up which is all incorporated into the Paint the Night parade.
