Well Sleeping Beauty Castle is slowing getting some "bling" for Disneyland's 60th anniversary
How I pictured Sleeping Beauty could "sparkle" for the 60th by taking away the pink by repainting it white and replacing the 50th gold with diamond sparkles
As we can see, Sleeping Beauty Castle is starting to get some of its decoration on the rooftops and conical spires
The bright blue is replacing the dull and dingy blue
How all the transformation magic is happening
Comparing bling and bland spires
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you MC, you provide me with a window to Disneyland
ReplyDeleteHaving read a few or your posts, you seem very against the pink castle. Although much more subdued, the castle was pink in 1955.
ReplyDeleteGrowing up, I remember some pink. But I don't remember it being all covered in pink. I did Google it and saw a handful of pictures where it was pink, white and blue. That's the Castle color scheme I remember and grew up with.
DeleteBut ever since the 50th anniversary version, I have grown to dislike the color palette they use for the Castle. I think it's just too much. It really hurts my eyes. Even when I am doing my pictures, I can only stand to look at them for such a short period of time before I get irritated by it.
Maybe it's all just psychological. I remember when I was little, peach color crayons used to give me headaches. If I tried coloring with a peach crayon or look at something that used peach color, I would just start getting headache. Now, although it's been years, I don't know how my body would react today if I came upon a peach color crayon.
Good reading this poost
