Welcome to Friday's .... er, um...wait, it's not Friday. It's Sunday!
Why am I doing it on Sunday rather than my usual Friday?
Last Friday, rain had hit the Southern California area. At times it was coming down hard. Because the weather had been forecasted with heavy rains, I had already planned on not going to the Disneyland Resort.
Friday morning came, and it indeed rained. Looking at my weather app, there was a couple of hours where it wouldn't rain. Because I had already planned on doing other things, I wasn't sure if I would even make it to the Disneyland Resort.
Around noon, the rain had stopped. And even though there were clouds still lurking, the sun was shining bright. Shortly after 1:30 p.m. I was able to make it to the Disneyland Resort for a short period of time because I didn't want to get caught up in the rain.
The main focus was to see the debut of the new Fantasmic! FastPass system.

The Disneyland Entertainment Guide has a small leaflet informing Guests about the new Fantasmic! FastPass system and three ways to experience the show.
Fantasmic! is following in the same footsteps as World of Color at Disney California Adventure
You'll see a lot of Fantasmic! FastPass signs around the Frontierland area
As you can see, even though it was mid afternoon, there were still tickets for the8:45 p.m. showing.
It could be due to a couple of reasons ...
1 - The rain had affected the crowds for the day at Disneyland
2 - Fantasmic! has been around since 1992, and no ticket was needed to see the show. And now 22 years later, you need to get a FastPass for the show. So many Guests are probably still unaware of the new procedure
Walking over to the Fantasmic! FastPass distribution area which is all the way towards the back of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, near Big Thunder Ranch, where the smoking section is/was located
Because rain was forecasted during the first show time, I didn't want to get a ticket for the first show. So I waited until the second showing was being offered
Funny looking FastPass machines.

After waiting for about 45 minutes, the 10;45 showing was being offered
Did you notice the new Fantasmic! show times?
Fantasmic! used to be presented at 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. with a third show typically at 11:30 p.m.
But I guess with the new Fantasmic! FastPass system, it looks like they have had to change the show times.

At night, the signs indicating where to return with your FastPass, just past the Frontierland petrified tree
Because I had Gold, I watched Fantasmic! next to a tree planter. I had never watched it from that angle. Sure did get a lot of mist.
Because I had plans to be out of town on Saturday, I knew the only other time to visit would be on Sunday, which is rare...extremely rare for me
I have no idea how Sunday crowds are in the morning, but lo and behold, it wasn't that bad
Arriving the the Disneyland Resort at 7:45 a.m. for an 8 a.m. opening

Where ever they may go
Quite a few Guests were heading into Frontierland
Most were going to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, while a handful were heading beyond that
Walking to the Fantasmic! FastPass distribution area
Unlike the previous FastPass distribution machines, where you slide your ticket inside the top slot, on these machines, you just place it under the scanner to get the ticket, which will be printed to the left
Over at DisneyDose, the site is reporting the Royal Courtyard will become another entrance to a high end restaurant

Still no demand for FastPass

Even though Storybook Land was closed, boats were moving through the canal
One boat even had Cast Members on it.
The each had a spiel in their hands

First, you're telling me Fantasyland attractions will close for fireworks
And now you're telling me I need a FastPass to view Fantasmic! ?
That's it! I'm gonna write a letter voicing my concern and I'll drop it off in this mailbox
Disney California Adventure time
Frozen Fun is almost here!

What's wrong with this sign?
Three words - Hollywood. Pictures, Backlot.
Over in the Disney Animation Building...
Work continues with the Character Close Up, but I am heading into the Sorcerer's Workshop.
But why?
Last Sunday I had tweeted that I wanted to see Ursula's Grotto before it closes temporarily..
And it looks like it has
Since I never walk "backwards" through the Sorcerer's Workshop, I was kind of frightened to see a giant Walt Disney head painted on the wall.
I was then pointed out the radial lines "spell' out WALT BOY
And that this is an abstract Hidden Mickey
Love Donald's facial expression
Well I think it's about time to head out... but first,
When I was at Disneyland earlier, the Disneyland Monorail was closed.
When I was at Disney California Adventure, I saw the Monorails running along the track, so I went back to Disneyland.
It took a bit of waiting, but they finally opened.... with one train in operation. But I didn't care about that because I just wanted a shot from above the Frozen Fun area and then leave through Downtown Disney
Frozen Fun Land!
That will conclude today's pictorial
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out

Until Next Time...
