Checking Up on Refurbishment Work at the Disneyland Resort
Visiting Disney California Adventure

Today the Condor Flats rope drop was pushed all the way back to the airplane.

I was hoping that Little Mermaid would have soft opened when I was there. But it was still closed.
After I visited Disneyland, I did come back to check to see if Little Mermaid had opened, but they had it closed.
Apparently, it did open for a soft open in between the two times I came over here. Not sure if it had reopened after I left.
I just want to apologize that I didn't get pictures this time around of the new enhancements. I should have some pictures by next week's pictorial. Although by then it will be "old" news. ha ha
Good thing the song is called "Freeway of Love" and not "Highway of Love". ha ha
Cause after all, the highway is was killed the town of Radiator Springs
It's been 10 years that Guests have been dropping in on Hollywood History.
Why haven't we received an random drop sequence like Disney Hollywood Studios in Florida?

Disneyland time
Main Street is relatively crowded
Speaking of Main Street and crowds....
There are some days when the Park is so busy that moving on Main Street U.S.A. can be a hassle with all the foot traffic. To alleviate the congestion, Disney will open up the back sides of Main Street for Guests flow. But these back stage areas aren't that pretty and distract from the Disney magic.
But now, after all these years, Disneyland will start constructing themed corridors on the back side of Main Street U.S.A. starting May 12, 2014. These corridors will move Guests efficiently while still maintaining an onstage show. These corridors should open up sometime in the Fall of 2014.
What will these corridors look like?
Supposedly they will be lined with themed Victorian fencing and themed sound and lighting will give the feel of Main Street.
Because of the construction taking place of the themed corridors, the Main Street Lockers will be unavailable for Guests.
During that time, the only lockers available would be the ones outside the Main Gate and the ones inside Disney California Adventure
Although the lockers will be closed to Guests to store things in, this area will be used as First Aid for Guests.
The lockers will reopen when the corridor is completed
Why are the Main Street Lockers being uses as a First Aid station when they have one at the end of Main Street?
First Aid will actually get remodeled during the construction of the corridors

More Adventureland and Tiki inspired merchandise
Indiana Jones Adventure reopened

Alice in Wonderland refurbishment
The leaves look as though they are getting a fresh coat of paint
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage is suppose to open at the end of September 2014, but don't be surprised if the refurbishment is extended with a reopening in Oct 2014.
Work continues over at the Subs, but now work can be seen outside in the lagoon once again
Now only will the East side of Main Street get themed corridors, but the West side should be too.
About to head out
As I stopped in the shade to check something, and that's when I noticed this mom reading a Frozen book to her daughter
#DisneySide
That will conclude today's pictorial
Sorry for not getting any Little Mermaid shots today
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out

So awesome that Disneyland will finally get themed corridors to help during the times of heavy traffic.
ReplyDeleteAs I understand it, Disneyland Paris has had themed corridors behind Main Street for quite a while. (If not since it opened.)
I think it's great too! I've always thought it would be helpful with the bottlenecking that occurs sometimes, especially during fireworks and parades.
DeleteThere are also some cool theming possibilities. I'm interested to see what Disney does with it. Theming is definitely where they shine.
By the way, I rode Ariel's Undersea Adventure yesterday. There are several enhancements, they have added more sea creatures throughout the ride (especially in the descending tunnel), the "under the sea" scene is now a blacklight scene and looks great, and in the "Kiss the girl" and "Finale" scenes, Ariel and Eric now have real hair.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
DeleteCan't wait to make it over there and check it out :)
Thanks for this article really helps a lot
