Almost slept in late today. Last night I had set my alarm to 6:30 a.m. so I can get to the Disneyland Resort before the 8 a.m. opening. When my alarm went off on my phone, I put it on snooze because I thought it was too early to be waking up. Two alarm cycles go by and that's when I realize that the Disneyland Resort opens at 8 a.m. instead of 9 a.m.
I get up, get dressed and walk over to the Disneyland Resort. I get there around 7:50 a.m.
Hardly anyone on Buena Vista Street
A small line for Radiator Springs Racers Fast Pass stretches in front of the Carthay Circle Restaurant
Minutes before Disney California Adventure officially opens for the day, there isn't a big crowd waiting to head to their first destination. For many, this is perfect because most are going to Cars Land and Radiator Springs Racers. So there would probably be a short wait to get on
Blue Sky Cellar is closed until further notice until Walt Disney Imagineering is ready to set up a new exhibit.
Although this has "temporarily" closed, there was no fanfare, no groups of people taking pictures, no one staying an hour after the Park close to say their "good-bye". This isn't as loved as the Court of Angels in New Orleans Square
In Paradise Park, a new set up, for what looks like is a Meet-n-Greet.
As you can see, these colors match the colors found inside Toy Story Midway Mania's loading station
Riding Mickey's Fun Wheel, we can get a glimpse of what's behind that wall
If it is a Meet-n-Greet set up, it looks like it may be for Buzz, Woody, and Jesse
With not much going on in Disney California Adventure, it's time to head over to Disneyland....
Candy Palace facade is getting a small refurbishment
Skip about 6 hours later, the winds have picked up and so they took down the tarps
Tarzan Treehouse is also getting a small refurbishment
Hatbox Mickey Ghost popcorn bucket
Wait! There is a return time for Fast Pass?! Did Disney decide to turn it on?
No, someone forgot to turn the Fast Pass return times off from being displayed
For #LimitedTimeMagic, Jack has installed a few surprises inside the Mansion to commemorate the 13th anniversary of Haunted Mansion Holiday
The boxes got some labels as to who they are addressed to
Zero with his dog bowl full of bones
13 candles on Madame Leota's seance table
See the hidden Mickey?
Ribbon with 13 printed on them adorn many gifts in the attic
Additional snowflakes have appeared in the graveyard scene
The "??" gift has been replaced with a 13
Sally with presents all around her
I had to pause for a moment. Questions popped in my head...
Is this a man or woman?
Is this a someone dressed up for Mickey's Trick or Treat Party?!?
Is this person suppose to be the little girl from the Tower of Terror? (probably not)
ha ha ha
Court of Angels still open ... for now
This is how I normally see Court of Angles, vacant with no one around.
Granted, every now and then, there will be people getting their picture on the staircase.
But it's like "Monkey see, Monkey do". When someone sees a picture being taken on the staircase, then, whether or not they had any intentions themselves, they must get a picture done there as well.
That's probably the only time it gets busy here.
Otherwise people just consistently walk by this area, not realizing it is here
Hey Goat! Got a trick for me?
A a sign hidden behind the tree.
So far I can make out the word "LEATHER".
We'll go on the Columbia to see if we can get a better view
Hey look, It's Thor!
THOR!!
Is the Sailing Ship Columbia a ghost ship?
Because I see the steering wheel.. but no one is steering the ship.
How is that? Oh yeah, the Columbia is run by a motor
No outcry from Disney fans?? I mean, I thought Disney should be close to authentic as possible. Just like the Mark Twain, give the illusion of steering the boat around Rivers of America.
Because the Sailing Ship Columbia was built while Walt was still alive, that we suppose to just look the other way when it comes to this replication of a 18th century ship
ha ha ha ha
As the Sailing Ship Columbia passes by, we can see that the sign states "LEATHER GOODS"
An upper extension has completed near Peter Pan. Now there is more protection to those who walk on the rooftops of the Castle dark rides
Walked back towards Haunted Mansion Holiday and noticed that the Fast Pass return times have been turned off so not to confuse people
Inside the Candy Palace, because of the work being done on the outside facade, inside they placed these graphics to make it seem like you can still see outside
Roped off part of the queue inside the Market House
This should create less confusion when trying to figure out how to get in line
Gay Days
Looking at this shirt, one storm tropper is holing a flip phone and the other storm trooper is holding a smartphone or maybe it's an iPhone
With Disney buying Lucas Film, comes a bunch of merchandise of cross breading of Disney and Star Wars. Like we see here, Darth Vader helmets with Mickey ears on them.
Can Disney create earmuffs with the Princess Leia buns? You know, kind of like in Space Balls.
Although the joke in the movie was that Princess Vespa was wearing headphones that looked like Leia's buns.
Hmmm... can something like the parody of Leia's buns being something totally different that covers the ears (whether it be headphones in the movie or earmuffs) be copyrighted?
I sense something is coming near....
You know what time it is?
It's time for Cast Members to line up alone Main Street U.S.A.
Mickey glove in hand.
Uh-oh, I know what's coming...
Holding out their hand, "forcing" Guests to give high fives back.
Cause they know that kids won't leave them hanging .... or will they? ;)
ha ha ha
If you think you can escape by using the other side of the street, you are dead wrong.
Some chalk art has appeared by the tram stop
That will conclude today's pictorial
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out

Until Next Time...
Bo Peep is a man. I saw him last year when I visited during Halloween time. I remember him vividly.
ReplyDeleteEarlier while looking at the photos, when I was questioning myself, I thought I had seen this person before. But I wasn't totally sure if it was the same person or not. But with your comment, it's making me believe that I have seen this person before
DeleteIt would look so much better if they'd use the wheel on the Columbia, but I think that went away after the docking accident when they changed procedures. Too bad they can't just get an extra hand on deck to steer.
ReplyDeleteAt least Columbia's situation makes a tiny amount of sense. When I worked Jungle Cruise, they didn't want anyone actually steering the launches since that would mean Guests would see a back their entire trip. So, the spiel was given with the skipper facing the crew... regardless on how bad it looked that they weren't really steering nor paying attention to where they were going.
Walt would spot that unmanned pilot wheel in a second. Somebody probably figured they could save the expense of one job, and got a bonus for it.
