The new experience would be .... Soarin' Around The World , which is to replace Soarin' Over California (a.k.a. Soarin' at EPCOT)
The original Soarin' Over California was an opening day attraction at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort. It was so popular, that Walt Disney World got so jealous that it wanted one too.
So for Disneyland's (you know, the original Walt Disney theme park) 50th celebration, Walt Disney World decided it wanted to celebrate in some way too. Trying to steal the spotlight, the Walt Disney World Resort brought over different attractions/shows from all the Disney Parks.
The one attraction it wanted was Soarin' Over California. But because EPCOT isn't celebrating the spirit and heritage of California, they just named it Soarin'
Over at Disney California Adventure, Soarin' Over California is starting to see some changes happen in the queue as it gears up for it's new Soarin' Over The World debut at a later date.
First, we will just look at some of the old Soarin' Over California signage seen inside.
Now, we will see what has changed recently...
Notice that there is no longer a scroll bar indicating the California locations
New wings logo
An new logo, at least for Disney California Adventure.
This logo is pretty much like the one found at EPCOT at Walt Disney World in Florida
The safety spiel television also includes the new logo
The side decals on the gliders have changed.
Before, it stated Soarin' Over California
Now, it's just a hang glider and a swoosh
