Several things occurred this week at the Disneyland Resort.
The biggest news was the announcement of the kickoff celebration for Disneyland's 60th anniversary, the Diamond Celebration.
On Monday, the Boudin Sourdough Bakery Tour reopened after its refurbishment.
As noted in last weeks pictorial, a vintage delivery truck now sits outside the tour.
Of course, when I head to Disney California Adventure, it starts to rain.
The outside lit up
A look inside.
You'll notice that it's now an open area. Before, you'd enter the room, watch a short introduction video in an enclosed space, and then side doors would open to continue the sourdough bakery tour.
A vintage delivery wagon is displayed inside
As you can see, Rosie and Colin are still your host
Rosie and Colin only introduce you to sourdough and Boudin. They no longer guide you the rest of the way like they did before
Some indoor seating is now included
On Wednesday, Disneyland was closing at 6 p.m. to hold a media event to announce the kickoff of Disneyland's 60th anniversary
A giant electronic billboard was displayed in Town Square, which would be used during the media presentation
Can you believe it Oswald... err, I mean Mortimer... I mean Mickey... they are about to announce some of the new offerings for the 60th anniversary
Sleeping Beauty Castle with a tarp and scaffolding
Is this a portrait of the ship that belongs to Anna and Elsa's parents that got lost at sea? ;)
Another look at the temporary wall and window
As you pass by, you see some ghosts
Similar to what you see before you go down the hill
A look at the exit speed ramp
Sleeping Beauty Castle lit up with the tarp and scaffolding
Of course, no one wants to take pictures in front of it. ha ha
With this Once Upon a Time window display on the side of the "Off the Page" store, wouldn't it fit the whole Frozen Fun theme if they had the outfits from the Anna and Elsa arc?
Wanna see something....
Look up in the window.
Do you see it?
It's part of the old ceiling from the Greetings From California Store that used to be here
Back at Disneyland...
What caught my eye was this check.
Look at the date
May 22, 1950
Just think. 65 years later, May 22, 2015 Disneyland would be kick starting the 60th anniversary.
Now I am back again for my weekly Friday visit
I rarely use the tram service at the Mickey and Friends Parking structure. But for some reason I used it.
It's been so long that this whole disability pick up and drop off at the far end of the tram loading / unloading area is new to me. I have no idea how long it's been there
Why is Peter Pan walking. Shouldn't he be flying?
A Cast Member cleaning out the Tea Cups.
Good for her! :)
"it's a small world" with a picture tarp
I am guessing a sneak peek of "Tomorrowland" would be next to be shown in the Magic Eye Theater
Starcade closed.
Maybe they will have a Meet and Greet with George Clooney, since he stars in the movie Tomorrowland
Or maybe a Meet and Greet with his character
Looking at the Matterhorn from the Monorail station
Looking at the transformation of Condor Flats to Grizzly Peak Airfield
Ack! Don't look down!
Matterhorn refurbishment
The backside of Sleeping Beauty Castle with tarps and scaffolding
I could just watch the pirate galleons take off from the station for hours.
Flying around Never Land
Dirty water in the moat
Just for funsies, what if they changed The Golden Horseshoe to The Diamond Horseshoe. in honor of Disneyland's 60th anniversary. Of course, the name would then be changed back the following year
I know Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom's version is called The Diamond Horseshoe
Critter Country refurbishment
The New Orleans Square train station under wraps
Some potted plants dress up the Royal Courtyard
Heading over to Disney California Adventure
Tomorrowland billboard
Destruction of the Condor Flats entrance rock work
Soarin' Over California's sign has been removed
Sneak Peek for Disney's live action Cinderella at the Bug's Life Theater
World of Color refurbishment continues
New closed signs for Grizzly River Run
The old one was circular, and mentioned that Grizzly River Run was closed and to visit other adventures in the Golden State.
The new ones will probably fit in better with the whole Grizzly Peak Airfield theme
Can you unscramble these
They are three characters
Michael Colglazier
Luigi's Flying Tires refurbishment schedule has been pushed back
Some are saying that it may be towards the end of February that it will closed.
As I head out of Disney California Adventure, work continues over at the rock work of Condor Flats
That will concludes today's pictorial
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out

Until Next Time...
