Waking up this morning, it was already warm outside. But with the sun out, it will make for a nice day at the Disneyland Resort
As I walk into Disney California Adventure, some Guests are rushing to get in line somewhere. Probably for a Radiator Springs Racers FastPass
At 9:30am, it is already warm enough for a ride on Grizzly River Run
Although warm enough, the attraction was still a walk on
Put your hands in the air! air! air! air!
Over at Cars Land, Route 66 is getting a repaving done.
I had heard that the road was cracking, so a repaving was necessary
The repaving started earlier in the week
Soon the lines and signage will be repainted on the street
The side closer to the parade route at Mater's Junkyard Jamboree seems to be having issues again
A more permanent signage has been placed over at the Radiator Springs Racers marquee.
And just like Big Thunder Mountain's signage before it's refurbishment, this sign also states "Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a person 14 years of age or older"
Earlier in the week, the Storyteller's statue was behind some shrub walls for a small refurbishment. The walls have been removed and Guests are now able to get a picture once again with Walt and Mickey
With Monsters University coming out to theaters next month, and a meet-n-greet near by, I wonder if it will regenerate interest on visiting Monster's Inc. Mike and Sully to the Rescue
I wonder if she's enjoying the ride
Velvet ropes indicating a queue for checkout in Elias and Company
Velvet ropes are also set up at Los Feliz Five and Dime
Disneyland ....
Outside work on the Market House
Main Street looks pretty empty
A painter at Le Petite Chalet.
So I was watching him for a bit before taking a snap shot. Everyone was walking by casually, with only a few paying attention as to what was going on. As I got closer, I take a few shots of him painting, and soon other people around stopped. Some ever took pictures too. ha ha
I don't even know if he knew, that for a brief time, Guests were watching him paint
.
At this time, Matterhorn was closed. With 3 major Mountain rides closed, it wasn't looking good to be at Disneyland
Time to get out the Pin Trading board
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage has reopened after a small mechanical incident occurring about a week and a half ago
Space Mountain still down, but hopefully reopens in the next coming days
As to what some people (and websites) think, Space Mountain did not close because of the rooftop incident involving an outside contractor. The closure was for something totally unrelated
A themed Wreck-it-Ralph penny pressing machine
And while you are at it, don't forget Tron!
ha ha ha
Walking through Sleeping Beauty Castle and into the Courtyard, Background Music can be heard. It is in the same style as Fantasy Faire. But what's nice about this BGM is that it coincides with King Arthur Carousel's music. So as you move from the courtyard to the Carousel, you will hear the same music being played, but just in a different style
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad refurbishment continues
Notice anything different? Frasier Crane is gone.
New Orleans Train Station behind walls
A themed Pirates of the Caribbean Cast Member
The treehouse on Tom Sawyer's Island is under refurbishment
The track has sort of a centipede look to it
The hole has been patched up
A new mobile device can now be rented here. An Electric Standing Vehicle (ESV), which is a 4-wheeled motorized device that is safer than a 2-wheeled Segway. But Disneyland Resort only has a very very very limited supply at the moment.
That will conclude today's pictorial
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out
Until Next Time...
So, why did Space Mountain really close???
ReplyDeleteI just stumbled upon your blog by accident and I am SO happy I did. I think it is amazing that you chronicled California Adventure's overhaul, step by step, all the way through. It made me a little emotional actually watching the whole thing evolve through your pictures. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us! :-)
