OK kiddies, now there have been cases of a measles outbreak from those who visited the Disneyland Resort. Before we go, I don't want you to get infected, so I am going to administer vaccination shots
I had nothing going on in the early evening on Thursday, so I thought I would walk over to the Disneyland Resort during the last hour of operation. I thought I would see if the Royal Courtyard door was open so I can see what the progress was
To my surprise, the Royal Courtyard was open
After some time there, I thought I would walk around a bit. I walked over by "it's a small world" to see that the Holiday version was still going....
But only the clock tower and a small section of facade on both sides were lit up.
Majority of the facade was hidden behind scaffolding and tarps
Time to head out as I will be back the next day to do my pictorial
Friday morning and the Parks open up at 8 a.m.
Looking over at Disney California Adventure, quite a crowd waiting to get in.
Normally they would have Early Entry. But Disney California Adventure had it the day before. With the marathon taking place on the weekend, they would be loosing a day for Early Entry. So Disneyland (which normally has it on Thursday) and Disney California Adventure switched Early Entry days
Normally today, Disneyland wouldn't have Early Entry. But because of the explanation above, the gates were open and it made it easy to enter
Walking down Main Street
A sign to let Guests know that the FastPass station is for the Royal Theatre's performance of Frozen
Once the rope is dropped, people were rushing to Fantasyland
I just wanted to get a picture of the Castle.
As you will notice, the gold swirly rail that was placed up on the second floor wall for Disneyland's 50th anniversary has been removed
An outside contractor that is working on the second floor above the Royal Courtyard is having a smoke
The Royal Courtyard
Arrr! So they finally opened up the courtyard
I'll call these colors Royal Plum and Angle Court Blue ha ha
#Stairs
Merchandise has reappeared
Haunted Mansion still shows decoration pieces from Haunted Mansion Holiday as it is being reverted back to the classic version
All of Critter Country is blocked off by a wall
I wonder how useful this kiosk is for the Disability Access Service
Another look at the second floor Castle wall
Matterhorn is down for refurbishment
The signage shields that were placed back in 2012 when the Matterhorn was receiving the new bobsleds have been placed on the wall again
Day time shots of "it's a small world" facade refurbishment
Pure white
Earlier this week, Toon Town Cast Members received new costumes
All she needs are big red circles on her cheeks and she could be a toy solider
I am liking these costumes already
The attractions and character hosts seem to wear the same costume
These are much better than the previous teal colored costume. I thought the teal colored were so ugly.
I was scanning my pictures when I looked up and Minnie Mouse was right in front of me, which scared me
Those around, saw my reaction and laughed.
All in good fun
5...4...3..2..1!
Mickey Mouse waits to greet Guests at his house
Those who are in the foods department got colorful costumes as well
Goofy and a service animal
Some might find these costumes silly.
But I like them
Bravo Disney
Anything is better than those teal costumes
I think the last time I went on this ride, the console was still on the opposite side of the station
Let's not forget the store and their new costume pieces
Love the lunch box he's carrying
You know, the new costumes look like they could have been inspired by the first costumes ToonTown had with the yellow shirt, blue pants, red suspenders, and checkerboard hat
Monorail time...
Whoa! They sure have done a lot to Condor Flats
They took down that giant turbine mister
Riding the Disneyland Railroad cause I want to see Critter Country
Only to find that they tarped the bridge so you can't see.
Ugh
The poster for Big Hero 6 still displayed in the tunnels underneath the train station, yet the sneak peek has already concluded
Heading out to Disney California Adventure
For the First Time in Forever Sing-Along Celebration's facade received more theming.
Olaf's Snow Fest received an updated entrance
Amazing...60 minutes to meet a snowman ha ha
Taste Pilots' Grill facade had been ripped away
With the bakery closed, clam chowder and broccoli and cheese can be purchased at Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill
Work continues on World of Color's refurbishment
I hope the $96, or $135 (park hopper) ticket was worth it
That will conclude today's pictorial
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out
Feel free to leave a comment
Until Next Time...
I always love reading your posts as you keep us up to date on things. It's hard for me to get to Disneyland anymore due to health issues and the uptick in bus prices. So your posts keep me up to date and how much construction is going on. I will know when to go again when all the construction is done and closed attractions will be open. Thank you for doing this every week. It is much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your continuation of your visits to the blog :)
Delete"An outside contractor that is working on the second floor above the Royal Courtyard is having a smoke"
ReplyDeleteThat made me literally laugh out loud.
Also, silly costumes make sense for Toontown. :)
At first it was a bit shocking to see.
DeleteBut I'm not sure if they are held with the same policies as any Disney Cast Member would be (no smoking on stage)
noticed the early morning light in your photos. very nice.
