Take A Look - Maps Of The Disney Parks

Some time ago I had heard about a new Disney Maps book that was going to be coming out.

Browsing on Amazon one day, I saw they were advertising the book for pre-order. Even though it would be months away before it arrives, that didn't stop me from passing up on the opportunity



After months of waiting, the book finally arrived mid October.
As the book was delivered to those who pre-ordered, pictures from the book started to show up on social media.


Because this was going to be a book I would want to look at multiple times, I didn't want anything to damage it, even any kind of oils, dirt, or anything else from my hands and fingers that can damage the pages. So I waited until I got something for protection

I went on to Amazon and found some cheap gloves to order and waited a couple of days for them to be delivered.

The day finally came where I got the gloves and was able to tear the plastic off the Maps of the Disney Parks book.

Tokyo Disneyland!!!




How fun is it to see what Tokyo DisneySea might have looked like.
This image is going back all the way to 1992, nine years before Tokyo DisneySea (which turned out to be quite different) opened to the public.













Of course, that is just a small taste of what the book has to offer as there are still so many more pictures to look at.

I know when I was looking all pictures being displayed on the pages, I was taking my time looking at all the details.

Some of these images I have seen before, whether it be in other publications or on the internet, it's so handy to have them collected in one book that I can just hold in my hands and look at again and again.

This is a book that I would highly recommend if you love Disney, concept art, and history of the Disney Parks.

Refurbishments and a "Limited Time Magic" Show at the Disneyland Resort

Doing my weekly visit to the Disneyland Resort.  I woke up early with the intention of getting a spot for the first showing of the "Salute to the Golden Horseshoe" as part of Disney's year long campaign #LimitedTimeMagic



Getting to the Disneyland Resort just before the 9 am opening for both Parks.


First stop Disney California Adventure

Guests with multi-day tickets are getting their pictures taken with the corresponding ticket they hold. If the picture does not match up with the person, they are denied entry

Buena Vista Street is back to normal.  As much as I love Christmas, I am glad it is over and everything is back as it should be

Oh wait, I should be over at Disneyland so when they start to accept reservations, I can get a spot for the first show


Heading over to Disneyland.  Look at all those Cast Members looking at Guests tickets to see if they need their pictures taken


The Main Street U.S.A. train station under refurbishment.  But the Disneyland Railroad still chugs along

No longer are the guide maps presented by Kodak








Two things I noticed here in the Frontierland section of the Disneyland Guide Map...
1. Big Thunder is listed as reopening Fall 2013
2. Stage Door Cafe and Golden Horseshoe now list the mozzarella strips

Cause ...wasn't it a "hidden" menu item before??

Guests with Disabilities get a new map as well

Inside the Guide Map, it states where the Mobility Access is for each attraction


Before, Guest who rented a wheelchair were given a manila colored pamphlet that they would use in addition to the guide map.  This time, everything is consolidated into one map for them with all the info they need for their visit

One street car stays put at Sleeping Beauty Castle while the other one takes off for Main Street U.S.A.


A commercial was being filmed next to the Castle




Tiles have appeared on a rooftop at the Princess Fantasy Faire






The Castle wall portion of the Faire got the same color scheme as Sleeping Beauty Castle's wall






The shortcut between Adventureland and Frontierland is still accessable






The crane in the background isn't for the Princess Fantasy Faire construction.  It's for Big Thunder Mountain Railroads refurbishment

It was a bit windy that the water couldn't make it at times to move the little cone water wheel




Luigi's was having difficulties


Mater's Junkyard Jamboree wasn't.




The floor that has been tearing up since opening will soon get new covering in the coming days








Blue Sky Cellar is closed as it removes the Cars Land exhibit and replaces it with an exhibit based on Disneyland's Princess Fantasy Faire and the Fantasyland Theaters new show Mickey and the Magic Hat












Soon Muppet Vision will be used to preview Disney's "Oz The Great and Powerful"
