After leaving Tokyo, our last and final destination on this trip is to Shanghai Disneyland
We land in Shanghai in the evening and grab a taxi to the Shanghai Disneyland Resort.
Getting a taxi seemed like such a hassle. Once we were assigned a taxi, we showed the address (in both languages) and the driver and dispatcher seemed to argue at each other. It seemed like the driver didn't want to take us to the Shanghai Disneyland Resort. Even though we didn't know the language, it seemed like the dispatcher kept telling the driver to take us. After about 5 minutes of the two yelling at each other, the driver finally agreed to take us. He plugs the address into the phone GPS and we are on our way. As we are on our way, we both were a bit uncomfortable. We just wanted to make it to our hotel, which was the Toy Story Hotel.
We finally make it to the Toy Story Hotel and check into our room
Time to get some shut eye because we have a big day ahead of us at Shanghai Disneyland!
Now, this is the first time at Shanghai Disneyland. I really didn't do any "homework" on the Park. I wanted to go in knowing nothing, to see how I do.
Because of that, and it being our first day, my pictures are gonna be all over the place. So throughout the Shanghai Disneyland trip, you may see duplicates. I apologize as I haven't looked at the photos and and going it as I go.
We walk from the Toy Story Hotel to Shanghai Disneyland, which took about 20 - 30 minutes.
As we come to Shanghai Disneyland, there are metal detectors and bag check that every Guest must go through
Man, it looks hazy. Is it gonna be like this the entire day?
We get through the security point, get our ticket, and enter Shanghai Disneyland
Entering Mickey Avenue
The "Carthay Circle Restaurant" (from Disney California Adventure) facade makes an appearance on Mickey Avenue
The Enchanted Storybook Castle is huge!
First stop is to grab a Fast Pass for Tron LightCycle Power Run
Because I wanted to experience the attraction, I didn't take an photos. But on repeat visits, I did.
We leave Tomorrowland and follow the path towards the back side of Fantasyland. Along the way, we come across a small corner section that seems a bit isolated
Celebration Cafe, with a bit of Mary Blair flare
As we make our way into Fantasyland, we come to Peter Pan's Flight
With a 5 minute wait, we obviously take a ride to Never Land
Compared to the other Peter Pan's Flight at the other Disney Parks, Shanghai Disneyland's is beautiful
Each galleon has two rows
Unfortunately, we were given the back row.
There was a party of 3 that was given the front row. But the two women didn't want the male companion to sit with them, so guess where he sat?
In our row, which put me in the middle.
Because this was the first time riding it (and seeing it, as I didn't look at any videos online), I didn't know how it was going to be.
Later on, we did manage to go on the attraction multiple times, so I am hoping I got some good shots then.
Come on Nana
Now going on a Shanghai Disneyland original attraction, Voyage To The Crystal Grotto
Tale as old as Time
You've got some power in your corner now
Some heavy ammunition in your camp
You got some punch, pizzaz, yahoo, and wow
See, all you gotta do is rub that lamp
I have no idea what this is suppose to represent.
But the first thing that came to mind was EPCOT's Illuminations, with the globe
Entering the Crystal Grotto
Pixie dust form images of Disney characters on the wall
That's it?!
That was the climatic scene?!?
I was a bit underwhelmed with Voyage To The Crystal Grotto. It's probably why we only went on it once.
Find wait times and obtain Fast Pass for specific attractions at the Guest Services locations.
Unlike other Disney Parks that offer Fast Pass, here at Shanghai Disneyland, you go to a Guest Service location, choose the attraction you want a Fast Pass for (if it's available) and scan your ticket to get the Fast Pass.
I think I prefer the "older" way of having the Fast Pass distribution next to the attraction.
Passing Peter Pan's Flight as we go back to Tomorrowland
Because we had to put all loose items in a locker, I even placed my phone in there cause I didn't know how Tron LightCycle Power Run was going to be.
I loved this coaster!
It felt a bit short, like if you took out all the loops in Rockin' Rollercoaster.
Well, I think this is a good spot to conclude on this part of Shanghai Disneyland.
Still more to come.
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out
Until Next Time...
You are so lucky to get to go to all the parks. Looks like you had a great trip.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoying this very thorough photo tour of the new park. Great pics. Looking forward to the next installment on Shanghai.
