Slight Changes Being Made Throughout The Disneyland Resort

What a glorious day to visit the Disneyland Resort.
The weather is much better than last week's overcast. I know we are coming upon the cold season, and I am not looking forward to it. So I am gonna bask in the sun as much as possible

Disneyland Resort, Main Entrance Plaza, Disneyland
Getting to the Main Entrance Plaza around 7:50 a.m., I see a high demand to get into Disneyland.

Disneyland Resort, Main Entrance Plaza, Disney California Adventure
Over at Disney California Adventure, not so much.
But don't let that fool you.
Disney California Adventure had Early Entry today so the gates to get inside the Park were already open,

Disneyland Resort, Disneyland, Main Entrance, Turnstile, Main Street U.S.A.
Over at Disneyland, the gates were still closed.
I think Disneyland opened late today because when I looked at the Main Street train station clock, it stated 8 a.m. and the gates were still closed

Disneyland Resort, Disneyland, Main Entrance, Turnstile, Main Street U.S.A.
Once the gates opened, the lines began to move
Some lines moved faster than others.
For some time, when entering either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure, you'd encounter two Cast Members. The first one was positioned outside of the gate, checking tickets and taking photos of Guests to match the ticket, and the other Cast Member at the turnstile scanning and checking hand stamps (if needed) to enter the Park(s).
Now the Cast Member at the turnstile is doing everything.

Finally inside Disneyland

Because the ramp is also involved, there is a make shift ramp to accommodate wheelchairs and strollers

Disneyland Resort, Disneyland, Frontierland, Halloween Carnival, Halloween Time, Big Thunder Ranch
Last week, I pointed out that the Halloween Carnival canvas sign stated "Hear Haunted Hillbillies".
The probably was, there were no more hillbillies as they were all let go.
So now the sign has changed to reflect this and now states Halloween Magic in its place

Disneyland Resort, Disneyland, Frozen, Meet and Greet, Return Time, Queue
Heading into Fantasyland from the backside, we encounter the line to get a Return Time ticket for the Frozen Meet and Greet. The Cast Members were handing out 12:00 - 12:20. So if you got back here, you'd probably be getting them for like between 4 pm or 5 pm.

Disneyland Resort, Disneyland, Fantasyland, Skyway, Chalet

Disneyland Resort, Disneyland, Tomorrowland, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Refurbishment, Refurbish, Refurb
Sept 27, 2014 should be the return of Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage from its refurbishment

There is one Disney fan-based site that constantly insists that there was no work being with Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage and that it sat untouched for a number of months before work got under way. Contrary to what they think, there was massive cosmetic work done to the attraction.

When it reopens, don't expect much as far as the show is concerned, as that's pretty much the same

Disneyland Resort, Disneyland, Fantasyland, Sleeping Beauty Castle, Drawbridge, Courtyard, Parapet, Rail, Railing, Railings
The parapet leading up to the Sleeping Beauty Castle drawbridge will receive new railing to prevent anyone from falling into the moat

Disneyland Resort,
Markers have been cut to mark where the stanchions for the railings will go

We also see that the benches have been removed to decrease further temptations

Disneyland Resort, Disney California Adventure, Cars Land, Luigi's Flying Tires
Now ... there is talk that Luigi's Flying Tires may be getting a complete revamp when it goes down for refurbishment after the holidays

If it becomes true, there will be a new concept that doesn't involve "flying", but more like dancing

I will welcome this revamp of of Luigi's Flying Tires.
I always found the tires to be too big and bulky. And fitting three guest never really got them anywhere.
And let's not forget about getting over the tire can be such a pain.
Of course, they made them big because they wanted to increase capacity when compared to the old Flying Saucers vehicles in Tomrrowland

The Cast Member was stating that Guests with multi-day tickets (2-Day, 3-Day, etc.) do not need a handstamp with the new system
1-Day ticket holders on the other hand still need one, as I had to get one when I exited

That will conclude today's pictorial
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out

  1. Enough with all of the modifications to protect stupid people from themselves!!! If people want to fall into the moat, then let them.

    Thanks for the update!

    2. Has anyone ever fallen into the moat in 59.5 years, accident or otherwise?

  2. I'm going to be honest; I don't care about the seats being removed. I never really saw anyone sit in them. They were very uncomfortable since there was no leg room (the banner poles were in the way) I'm just glad that the alcoves are still there. They actually made it look pretty seamless. A first-time visitor would have no idea that seats used to be there.

Also, I'm not too concerned about the railing extensions. In such a high profile location, I'm sure that they are going to make them look nice.

People need to get over themselves. The fans never stop to think about all the numerous changes that Disneyland has gone through *before* their lifetimes.

It's just a different world that we live in today. The world has changed a lot since 1955. Just because an incident has not occurred yet, does not mean that it never will. Why wait until *after* someone falls and gets hurt?

It's just like how the Internet fan community acts: Sure, when Disney makes safety enhancements in an area *before* an incident occurs, then people call it "unnecessary"
But in the past whenever a cast member or guest has gotten hurt or killed (especially when it involved a high height), then the fans crow "Shame on Disney! They should have had fall protection!!"

If it's one thing I hate with a fiery red passion, it's hypocrisy.

    1. I totally understand what you are saying and agree with you.

For the Sleeping Beauty Castle parapet seats being removed, I too thought that the seats were way too tight for anyone to sit comfortably, and this is coming from someone who is on the slender side.

I hope that the railings will be done tastefully

  3. It sure is a different world that we live in. One where you better protect me from myself, because if I do something stupid and hurt myself on your grounds, I am going to blame you and make you pay for it. I don't dislike all safety enhancements to the park, just the ones to areas where one would not usually get hurt unless they were doing something stupid and taking an unnecessary risk.

How does one accidentally fall into the moat anyways?

    1. It's like "blame everyone else and not yourself".
It's a shame that people don't take responsibility for their own actions. But even if there are a people who would take responsibility, once a lawyer gets a hold of the situation, they will convince that person that it's not their fault, that Disney is the one who "invited" that behavior to take place. And one the lawyer mentions how much $$$ they can get, then that person becomes the victim and all of a sudden sees it the way the lawyer wants them to see it.

  5. I've been to real castles in Europe which are far more dangerous or have much bigger, real drops... yet no one gets hurt or falls over the edge! Amazing! Only in America (or is it just California?) Hmmm
