St. Patrick's Day at the Resort

Spring Break has started at the Disneyland Resort. With the heavy crowds, my goal was to get to Disney California Adventure before 10am

After getting through the bag check, the view I got at the construction work of Disney California Adventure's new entrance

It is about 9:55am

Getting into Disney California Adventure and looking back at the entrance progress

The park just opened and there is a heavy mob heading towards Paradise Pier.  The new meet and greet for Tow Mater and Lightning McQueen can be seen on the left. We will get to that a bit later.

Toy Story Midway Mania was using the cross over extended queue. But the need didn't last long for in about 15 minutes, the line will be along side Mr Potato Head and heading back towards the Toy Story 3 plastic toy package

- Mickey's Fun Wheel -

Some walls have appeared around the fence that cases in Screamin's support beams

The water tower coming along for Goofy's Sky School

Cars Land construction

I wonder if this is a "queue" to get a game card for the Boardwalk Games

Looking across the bay at the Little Mermaid

Work being done on the Little Mermaid rotunda

Looking at this I was trying to figure out why it was necessary to have the ropes with the arrows and the tape on the ground ...

... then I noticed that the exit stair case was missing the tag "Do Not Enter  Exit Only".  It looks like the painters forgot to paint that back on.

Silly Symphony Swings in action

Work continues

Looks like the blue glass framing is now finished

Repainting the columns from orange to possibly the "Golden Bronze" color on the rotunda

I wonder what the reason is behind painting over the white trim to match the rest of the building

Some trees have now been planted along the east side of the building. Looks nice

The new meet and greet, promoting Cars 2

Couldn't these kids be any more excited!

Quite a line for the Cars 2 meet and greet.

Checking out Blue Sky Cellar -

With the Little Mermaid building almost complete, I wonder if the building will still include the roof toppers. It would appear that the "Tropic Night" coral has been replaced with the wavey pattern underneath the seashell

Bubble machines have appeared on top of some of the parade lamp posts over by Tower of Terror. Now these really stand out back here, even if they are the same color as the lighting towers.

The nearly finished sign for the Disney Theater. Still some more neon to add

An empty spot where Tow Mater and Lightning McQueen used to be in Condor Flats

Is this the start of the Carthy Circle theater?

Leaving Disney California Adventure

Looking at all the people still entering the Park

The Emporium getting work done

Star Tours painting taking place

The ramp leading up to the Tomorrowland Terrace has now been cemented. No more of those bricks.

Another view of work being done on Star Tours

The walls have been removed in front of the Star Trader to reveal the continuing cement tile pattern

Spring Time has arrived at the Big Thunder Ranch

Don't mind me duck, I am just here to get some pictures

Some goats celebrating with a lil bit of the Irish

Over at the Festival Arena, a projection screen has appeared. Starting March 25, the arena will host a 3D sneak peek several times during the evening hours of Disney's summer movie release "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides"

Another wall!?!

Because of the wall, Big Thunder Mountain's queue was pushed towards the side

Big Thunder's FastPass was not in use due to the limited amount of room

The start of Big Thunder's queue

The Hungry Bear restaurant was scheduled to open tomorrow, but as it turned out it was opened a day early

The new menu for the restaurant. Only sweet potato fries instead of regular fries

New roof here

Looking at Splash Mountain from the Hungry Bear ramp

Work continues on Splash Moutain

Where is the FastPass Return sign? Has it has been replaced with "Molasses 5 cents a jug"?

Adventureland is now even at a more of a tight squeeze with the strollers being placed in the middle of the walkway. I will admit that the strollers are pretty organized

Heading out of Disneyland Park

Walking along Harbor Blvd.

That will conclude today's pictorial
Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to look at the pictures

Until next time...

  1. That wall up by big thunder is because of construction on a new fruit cart. It'll be like the fantasyland fruit cart where it sells sodas, fruit, and lemonade. Unlike fantasyland it's also going to sell turkey legs, replacing the current hot foods and lemonade carts in frontierland.

  2. The "Molasses 5¢" sign is actually the Fastpass Return sign folded up. It has magnets in case Fastpass is not operating.
