Rain had been taking place for two days before my visit. I was hoping that the rain wouldn't happen on Friday when I was planning on visiting the Parks.
Luckily, it didn't rain during the time I was there, but it did eventually rain on the evening side.
While walking to the Disneyland Resort, several sandwich boards signs have been placed throughout the perimeter of the Resort, similar to the ones here.
Because the valet and drop off area for Downtown Disney has been blocked off from traffic, signs point in the direction of the new pick up / drop off area is
Blocked off from vehicle traffic
The reason it is now blocked off is because it is now being used for pedestrians since this is one of several security bag checks
Very quiet while walking through Downtown Disney
Guests staying at the Grand Californian Hotel have the standard Disney California Adventure entrance bag check and now a new bag check that leads to Downtown Disney
Look at the greenery!
Man, this is such a great sight to see
This is just like Pre Sept 11, 2001
The ease to just walk around really feels good
Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure opened at 7 am for Early Entry, so it was easy to get inside either Parks before they officially opened.
California chemical warning signs now adorn the turnstiles of both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure
Those who have the Extra Magic Hour (Early Entry) will enter the Park on the right of Main Street USA.
Everyone else will continue forwards to wait for Rope Drop
More times than not, they would hold people closer in the hub area.
Today, Rope Drop took place by Refreshment Corner and the Picture place store
A family was selected to hold people there until it was announced by one of the family members that "Disneyland is officially opened" after the recorded spiel.
I guess this would have been a happy moment, but the child selected was too shy to say anything. So the security guard chose another family member to announce it, which ended up being another child.
Oh come on!
We are wasting precious minutes waiting for someone to tell us that the Park is officially open.
Finally the child whispers that the Park is opened and a few people cheered as everyone else was dashing off to their first destination
My first destination was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to check out Star Wars Land
It has been a couple of weeks since I last visited, but man, a lot of been done
I'm sure the view of Disneyland Drive will be blocked by trees or something.
Because this is Small World Holiday's 20th season, there are hidden 20's throughout the ride.
I don't know how many there are, and I know I have missed a few.
Hopefully I can get back to it one before it closes to revert back to classic "it's a small world"
This 20 stamp has fallen from the envelope
The Castle Heraldry Shoppe is officially closing January 12,2017
What will go in its place?
Queue space for Peter Pan's Flight?
Fast Pass for Peter Pan?!?
It's the Candy Cane Quartet
Condor Flats label has been removed
But no mention of Grizzly Peak Airfield
Or change in color for the buildings
Two types of Christmas light bulb necklaces
As much as I always loved the big fat bulbs, my family was more of the thin bulbs.
Ring in the New Year with these animated 2017 Mickey Mouse Ears
The side where the shuttle buses drop off at still have the security bag check in the same spot...for now.
Look at that!
Will you look at that.
You can actually see Downtown Disney without those horrible green tents in the way
Remnants of what used to be
Hoping on the tram to take me to the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure
The new route has been completed and trams are utilizing it
The new area of the drop off is to the right of the escalators and security bag checks
We will be using this crosswalk shortly
But first, heading up to the top floor of Mickey and Friends to check out Star Wars Land
That will conclude Friday's pictorial at the Disneyland Resort
So glad you could join me in my visit
Thanks for visiting and checking it out
Feel free to leave a comment
Until Next Time...
